i've been searching for the best soft chocolate chips cookies for too long, and finally i found you.
i've made this twice, the first time i followed the original recipe (almost) exactly. but this second time i ran out of normal flour (my host sister became a gluten-free person so there was only gluten-free flour in my house right now) i was lucky i still had my whole wheat flour, and some unbleached flour (which tasted and smelled a little different from normal flour, i didn't even sure if it was unbleached flour or something else.)
and so i discovered a healthier form of chocolate chips cookies (but still, unhealthy)
(adapted from chasing delicious)
ingredients
110 g. unsalted butter (room temperature)150 g. brown sugar (if i make it for myself to eat, i'd reduce the amount of sugar to 120 g.)
1 egg
1 egg white
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
90 g. whole wheat flour
90 g. unbleached flour
1/2 tsp. salt
200 g. chopped dark chocolate (i used 50% baking bar, i think i might like 60% ones better)
*the original recipe also add 1/2 tsp. baking soda, but i was lazy to add it and the cookies turned out just fine and became chemical-free cookies as well :)
instructions
- preheat oven at 180 degrees celsius
- cream butter and sugar until combined
- add eggs and vanilla
- add dry ingredients and now it will become a cookie dough
- add chopped chocolate
- form cookie-shapes dough on a baking paper (i can never seem to make cookie balls dough, bake them and they become flat by themselves. so i make them into the shape i want my cookies to look like instead) mine were around two and a half inches big (i love huge cookies!)
- bake for around 12 minutes, they'll look like they're undercooked but that's normal. let them cool down a bit and tell your stomach to be prepared ;)
