what i love about my prague-dresden trip
2:38 PM
my prague-dresden trip was probably my last self-organized trip in germany. and it was so special because...
- dresden was the town i wanted to visit the most and had been looking forward to for so long.
- this trip was something new, a real backpack trip, alone. the first time doing something is always full of memory...memorable.
- i did couchsurfing. yes, i did. even though it was actually forbidden for me,who wasn't eighteen yet, to be on couchsurfing. but i did it somehow and it was an amazing experience. i had never thought i could start doing couchsurfing at such a young age. i couldn't believe myself that i had done it, and i loved it. my hosts were students having a flat near the main station. they were just so sweet and trustworthy, it was unbelievable how lovely they were to me. they told me where i should go in dresden, cozy cafes and stuff. we (or at least i) had a very great time together. their recommendations allowed me to explore dresden like a local, which was probably why i fell in love with dresden, head over heals.
and here is my theory why this is my favourite trip (or one of my favourites)
because i had been wanting to do couchsurfing for so long and i finally got to do it, and my hosts were so nice. it was simply because i met inspiring people.
i have written a story about backpackers. back then, i had (almost) zero experience about backpacking, and i wrote something like this...
'it's not about where are you going, it's who are you going with that really matters'
i have never truly understood what i wrote myself, until now.
