travelling II
1:27 PMi'm having a three days break (from travelling. yes, you also need a break from travelling to just somehow)
here are what i have done so far for three weeks...
—had a friend from hamburg over to my house and we went to wissembourg, baden baden and stuttgart together. stuttgart library was so beautiful.
—went to that friend in Hamburg and stayed there for 6 days. during that time we also went to schwerin, lubeck and bremen.
—went to a friend in Cologne for 4 days. we made a day trip to brussels with 5 other friends. that day was such an adventure.
—and of course i got to see a bit of cologne, in sunset!
—then i had to friend over at my house, we went to heidelberg and strasbourg together
—and i stayed over at a friend near freiburg for a week. she had the best host family ever and i loved them so much. we were in the black forest, freiburg, basel, colmar (in france) and bodensee together. it was one of the best experiences in germany.
now, i'm staying with a family who was my friend's host last school year. i'm going on a day trip to munich on tuesday and going to hamburg (again) for two days before spending my last bit of travelling in berlin for five days.
for me, the most important thing about travelling is not seeing all the beautiful sites or following the 'must dos' list. it's meeting people who inspire me, and give me a chance to inspire them. it's exchanging opinions, thoughts and beliefs. it's building new relationships within a few days. it's experiencing other people's lives. it's getting someone that might be in contact for a week, or a next few years, or forever.
this was the best summer holiday in my life.
