germany
oh weather, weather—now it can't get any better!
11:19 AMi've been here for 4 months already.
i might write an ode to my journey in germany. if i'm not too lazy.

that weather had been so hot last week. almost 40 degrees (luckily it was only almost, not yet) like in thailand, if not worse. because in thailand we don't walk or go outside too much during the incredibly hot daytime. and we always use cars, not trains. i got a bit tan even after applying an intensive amount of spf 50 sunscreen.
the most surprising thing was the fact that when if was too hot, school would be canceled.
this is a surprise for a thai girl like me, who had been living in a no-winter country for all her life. thailand is that hot almost everyday and going to school on a sunny 35 degrees day is absolutely a daily routine.
what i expected was school being canceled due to the freezing weather, but my host aunt said there was no such things.
well, cultural and climate differences.

the next thing was abi streich, or a german version of american senior prank.
that day, the afternoon school was canceled. the prank wasn't anything much but still, i was reminded that i had to plan my senior prank as well. my last year of high school should have some worth-remebering events.
this is what i like about the here, about europeans. they study hard, they play harder, and they have fun. they really do it, not just saying 'work hard, play harder' and lock themselves in tutor schools like thai students. that's why i think i belong here, in europe, or new zealand, or western countries, not asia. maybe i'm being influenced so much by my dad, by his open-mindness and western way of thinking.

the weather has been so perfect since yesterday, and it will stay like this for a couple of days, according to the weather forecast (which is changing every 1 minute) or my hope. a little bit of clouds, a little bit of sunshine and no more than 25 degrees. i wish the weather is like this all year long.
yesterday was a beginning of summer, or summer solstice (i learnt about all these things in stargirl, my all-time favourite book) yesterday had a longest day and shortest night. from now on the day is going to be a little shorter everyday.
lulu scratched me yesterday. a minute before this happened, she was sitting on my lap, looking so cozy and harmless. and a second later this happened. i came out of nowhere. so unpredictable. just like the weather.
