walking through the woods—the beautiful end of the year

It's the last day of my first year today.

It was fast, like a blink of an eye, yet so many things happened.
So many things...

Last Friday, we went on the same walk we did at the beginning of the year in November, the Meanwood Valley Trail. It was the same walk but everything was so different. It was still bright and warm at 7 in the evening. Everything was green and blooming. Colourful flowers and petals on the ground, a field of wild garlic and their tiny white flower infused the air around us. Same place, different environment, different feeling.

I was different too. So much has changed since we walked this path 7 months ago. And I think it's such a nice way to reflect on the year like this, doing the same walk at the beginning and the end of the year. To see the change within everything, us and the surroundings.

It reminded me so much that we change, and we move on, all the time. Physically mentally. Up and down we grow.

This year I have learned so much more than I did last year, and I can feel myself thriving to learn me, to never stop learning. I opened up myself and let other people walk in closer to my heart. It was not always easy but I guess it's an important part of growing.

The academic year ended and we celebrated around the fire, cooking and eating and enjoying the music. The end it was, yet it also marked the start of something else, summer. Lots of exciting things await for me in the next 4 months, spending a few weeks on farms in the South of England, and a month in Northern Italy working with horses and in different agriturismi. Plus almost two months in Thailand chilling and eating lots of fresh fruit and good food.

While I'm excited about all the things to come, I'm also enjoying now.
