ski holiday in austria—and i unbelievably survived!!
9:54 AM
trip to the alps in lofer, austria was my christmas present from my host family.
the best present this christmas.
at first, we didn't plan to ski. but then the relatives of my host mum lent us two skis for my host mum and me (advantage of having a universally normal foot size)
but i couldn't ski at all. in fact, i had never stood, or worn, ski shoes (which was, by the way, very uncomfortable.) how would i survive?
and the answer was the babyberg.
the babyberg was a, as the name declared itself, for baby. all the beginners (mostly kids) were there learning how to ski down the gentle slope.
on the first day, i fell down like ten times. and at the end of the day, my left knee hurt.
on the second day, the weather wasn't quite so pleasurable. it was snowing the whole time and everything was white.
but i did ski again, first on the babyberg, practiced my turning skill so i wouldn't just slide down forward at the speed of 100km/h.
and it turned out to be pretty good! so my personal trainers allowed me to move up a step higher ;)
we took a lift up and i said goodbye to babyberg. this time it was a 500 m. length that i had to ski down.
compared to the 20-metres babyberg, wasn't quite a big different eh?
but i survived!!! (with a several Arschbremsen, ass-brakes) we did the 6-er lift twice before we had to take the gondola down the mountain.
and at the end, we we had to leave, i didn't want to, maybe never wanted to.
thank you for the amazing christmas gift!
