trekking weekend in allgau
7:46 PM
how happy i was to know, that we would go trekking in the alps!
it was just like a Gewohnheit (i was so sad that i couldn't find an english word to express what i want to say, and i didn't like the word habit) that i always went trekking with my dad (or my family, being led (or forced) by my dad) and even though i always, ALWAYS, complaint that we only went in the nature and walked and walked, and i wanted to go to the city and shopped and shopped!
but then, when nobody in germany would go trekking with me, i kinda missed it because i was so used to walk a lot and take a lot of photos. and finally, i found myself a perfect family who loved to go trekking just like i did.
and they even went beyond the way i had always done with my family back home.
but first, i would begin with my favourite kind of photos—cat photography from unterjoch, allgau
he/she was the funniest cat i had ever seen (though all cats i had seen were mostly very funny)
and the three cats below were cats from a farm. there were actually like eight cats all together. four of them were 2 months old, a few around 6-7 months old (i guessed from how they looked) and two cat mummies. a little 5 years old girl showed me all her cats, and later she told that she wasn't sure if 'a stranger' was allowed to enter the farm. she was quite funny and very cute (just like all her cats!)
end of the cat story. we spent the morning in tannheim, austria. there was a festival called almabtriebe where they herded the cattle from up the mountain down to the village, preparing them for the cold, snowy winter.
there was also a big beer tent. martina, a friend from munich, said that this was a lot more beautiful than oktoberfest.
in the after, we took a gondola up to fussener joch, the weather was foggily nice so i trekked a bit, up and down the mountains.
it just reminded me of a trip to switzerland with my family two years ago, and how much a missed trekking and being in the nature, and feeling like i'm in a family.
the next day,our last day, we drove to oberjoch and took the iseler bahn. then we hiked up to the top of the mountain.
it was my first time hiking up the hill, pretty challenging but i liked it a lot. it was actually cold and we were walking in shadow, but i was sweating.
it started to snow at the top of the mountain.
we took a gondola back down again, and had a little lunch at a restaurant near the gondola station. it was quite expensive but the food tested great. i had this kaiserswarrn, this austrian dessert with scraps of pancake, caramelised almond sliced and apple puree. it was amazing.
and that was my first trekking trip in germany. i couldn't wait for the next one.
