i can't survive without eating, actually nobody can.
but while in paris, i didn't eat a lot of parisien food like froi gras and such because i was trying to keep my budget low. however, since i have this sweet addiction, i did eat some amazing sweet things which really got me hooked.
first in the row, of course, macarons!
i tried the to best (or should i say most famous?) ones in paris, pierre herme and laduree
Pierre Herme
the shop wasn't as lovely as laduree. from there i bought creme brulee, rose, chocolate and chocolate with passionfruit. 4 pieces costed me 7.8 euros (do your own math)
i loved them all but rose, i though it wasn't that 'rose' and the only flavour i could taste in it was sweetness.
Laduree
ten stars for the decoration and atmosphere of the place. very cosy, very lovely, very classy, very frenchy and very macaron-y.
unlike pierre herme, apart from macarons, laduree had a variation of desserts that looked very appealing (only to your eyes, not to your wallet. it was very expensive) from there i bought vanilla, raspberry, two different kinds of chocolate and lemon. everything tasted amazing, though i expected raspberry to be better than that. the vanilla, however, was surprisingly good. though the only taste it had was also sweetness but the smell of vanilla was just amazing. i'd say i preferred laduree over pierre herme, better atmosphere, more flavours of macaron and other desserts to choose from. also, laduree macarons costed a little less, 9.25 euros for five pieces.
i'd try all these cute berries pastry next time!
